Bad result for Indonesia from the International Bribery


JAKARTA - Bribery in international business is a serious crime. There are several consequences of such bribery practices.

Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Busryo Muqoddas explained, international bribery by foreign officials or private parties against a state by issuing an undue cost to expedite matters in the destination country.

For example, there are foreign companies wishing to operate in a country then that company must pay extra to get permission from local government.

"Usually there is a difficult state licensing officials, the officials requested or given money from the foreign companies in order to acquire a license to operate the company," said Chairman of the Commission, Busryo at an international conference entitled Combating Bribery in International Business Transactions in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Tuesday (10 / 5).

Busryo said, there are some bad consequences arising from the practice of bribery internasionaltersebut. Namely, damage tatatan government, creating a very high development costs.

"Essentially, it endangers the security of international bribery political, economic, and social due to the existence of foreign intervention and state sovereignty," said Busryo.

The physical danger is, the poor quality of the construction of public facilities and infrastructure that endanger the public. While macro and ongoing danger is the increasing poverty and loss of public trust in government.
